I woke up one night on vacation and wrote the first notes of Martin on a motel scratch pad. The first whisperings of dozens of friends who introduced themselves in the next five years. I visited and chronicled their adventures. I was never sure where they would go but knew it would be profound. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do and find their journey an inspiration to wherever it is that you are going.

I had a long career in social services helping children and adults make their lives a little better. After years as an investigative social worker in Child Protective Services and Adult Protective Services, I retired as an administrator in a state agency helping elderly and disabled adults. I started my spiritual journey in earnest nearly three decades ago and have learned that we are never alone unless we want it to be.
